About this website
About the person
Karsten Risseeuw (born 1961) is a theologian, author and content creator specializing in Pauline theology. His evangelical background led to critical questions that led to the founding of kernbeisser.ch in 2014 and later to the launch of his YouTube channel. In a process of deconstruction and reconstruction over many years, he developed a theological position that combines academic depth with personal accessibility.
Risseeuw deliberately straddles the line between evangelical tradition and progressive Christianity. His work is aimed at questioning evangelicals as well as people who are involved in deconstruction processes and are looking for intellectual depth without losing their faith. His approach: away from religious performance thinking and towards the Pauline message of grace.
With hundreds of articles and a multilingual online offering (German, English, Dutch), it accompanies people through theological upheavals – European and objective, academically sound, but never elitist. He is not primarily concerned with “what” people believe, but “how” and “why” they believe so that life and faith can unfold.
Learning culture
This website advocates a learning culture as opposed to a teaching culture.
Kernbeisser Counseling
Kernbeisser Counseling has been a registered trade name in the Netherlands since April 2024. This makes it easier to comply with legal obligations and paves the way for further activities. At the present time, it is not realistic to transfer the project to an association.
