How do I read the Bible? This is the title of a mini Bible course published on this page. The course is for all people who are looking for a better approach to the Bible. Prior knowledge is not required. Anyone can join in. The course consists of 6 videos designed to stimulate a shared conversation. The best way is to invite a few friends, watch one video per meeting and discuss it afterwards. This can create something like a shared learning culture.

A voyage of discovery

The approach to this course is not knowledge transfer (although it does happen). It is not “taught as it should be”, but it is meant to be an incentive “to discover and learn together”. In this sense, it is about a culture of learning, not a culture of teaching, where what to believe is dictated from above. A learning culture promotes collaborative learning. The goal is to promote maturity in the faith and for all to “grow up into Him who is the head, Christ” (Eph. 4:15). The videos from the course are the introduction, so to speak. It is about discovering the richness of faith for oneself and for togetherness.

6 topics

The course is in German. The topics for this course are:

  1. The purpose of the Bible
  2. Inductive Bible Study
  3. Use translations correctly
  4. Everything is for us, but does not always speak of us
  5. Visual language
  6. Cultivate a learning culture

Each video lasts about 25-45 minutes and gives concrete input based on the Bible itself. What one learns should not be said “about” the Bible, but learned “from” the Bible. This simplifies later application in your own Bible reading.
