The 5 books of Moses, also called the Torah, form the core of the Bible. This is where it all started. From here, the biblical story develops into the New Testament. An understanding of these books is very helpful in understanding the rest of the Bible. Again and again, reference is made to these books.

The theme in these books is God Himself, and in His dealings with this world and especially with the people of Israel. Central is the 3rd book of Moses, also called Leviticus, which deals with the priestly service and the worship of God.
