Development in the New Testament

Interrelationships are often easier to grasp if they are represented schematically. The New Testament is also easier to read if you can place the statements in their own context. This includes the characteristics and challenges of the time, as well as the context in the text, as well as the clues from the original languages. As a result, a story appears with its own themes, not defined by contemporary ideas. This following overview suggests some important themes as an evolving story.

Thematically, this overview is limited to the following things:

  • Israel and the church (body of Christ, the present church from all nations)
  • The Kingdom of Heaven

The presentation is simplified and groups several books into logical groups: The Gospels, Acts, Paul’s letters, etc. For each of these sections there is an introductory text (who is speaking, with what purpose and to what audience?) and in parallel the development of the Kingdom of Heaven is outlined.
