Fellowship

What does it take to have a vibrant community with others?

What are the foundations for healthy fellowship with other believers? What is it that we share that keeps us together? Is it the views, the dogmas? Is it certain beliefs?

If we understand fellowship as a jointly cultivated culture, as a reflection of living relationships and an expression of our very own life, then we can consciously develop our own vibrant community culture. The original relational moment from which community once arose can uncover entirely new qualities in a consciously cultivated open culture.

In openness and reflection lie great opportunities for an enriching community, wherein people are nurtured and trust in God is reflected. It is not for nothing that Paul prays over and over again for believers that they of all people might come to know God(Eph. 1:17). We can only recognize this together (Eph. 3:18-19).

A community culture can be cultivated. The articles in this series aim to stimulate collective reflection. The richness of diversity can best be experienced and meaningfully implemented in togetherness.
